The 9″ Kona Mongo is the smallest version of the popular cupped face lure with 9″ sized skirt saddles. It has a slimmer profile compared to the Beauty shape but with a much longer steady tapered nose. This is a great rough water bait that has caught many large Marlin over the years. Also runs great in higher trolling speeds.
Here is Erik Rusnak on the Kona Mongo:
“The Kona Mongo is a consistent surface bomber that can swim a little deeper. The appeal of this cup faced shape is credited to its deep swim, long bubble trail, and nerve wracking surface rip. Credited with many tournament and trophy sized fish, this shape is ideal for all offshore catching.
Fished as a teaser or rigged with hooks, this bubbling menace will draw action to the spread.
The 9″ Kona Mongo is one of the only lures you need for catching more fish. Excellent for rough water conditions!”
