The Niiyama Lures Aku/Skipjack was first released in late 2018. This 9″ version was first released in late 2019 – These are are very uniquely handmade and hand-painted one by one and therefore no one Aku head is 100% like the other. Very heavy for its size at around 7oz with 9″ skirt saddles, so these lures will handle even the roughest of sea conditions. Has the profile of a bullet shaped head, so it swims very straight. Each head is belly weighted for perfect balancing.
This is the extremely popular “oil” version of the Aku/Skipjack with an iridescent dark purple back, blue stripe, and oily iridescent belly with the trademark skipjack stripes. This version is darker than the last version – Jon continues to perfect and update his Aku patterns, and this batch of Aku’s continues to impress to say the least.
