A brief summary: The JP Lures Series all are handmade from the same molds originally created by the original JP Lures maker, Joe Palacat. When Eric Koyanagi (maker of Koya Lures) was first learning how to produce lures, Joe was not just Eric’s main inspiration but also his only mentor, teaching him everything he needed to know about lure making. Thanks to the strong ties between the two living legends, Joe gave Eric his blessing to start the re-production of JP Lures once again. These are 100% authentic and provided with the JP Lures signature on each lure as well as the original eye style and even some of the original insert paper that were also unique with his lures (which have limited availability) – All to give full due respect to the original creator as well as to prove his ultimate blessing for their production.**
The 511 is a 9″ skirt saddle sized flat nosed pusher style bait. It has a very subtle rear taper with fairly heavy front taper. It compares to the Koya Lures Hard Head in head shape but with a much shorter face length and much heavier taper. These lures were made using the same original JP Lures 511 molds. The lure originally got its name after producing a 511lb Blue Marlin. Despite its smaller stature, this lure has produced very large fish in its day. Works great in all sea conditions.
